My sleep eludes me in these days
Blocked by rambling thought
Lonely pangs the empty space
Void of that once sought

She said, "you need to let me go"
I reached for her to stay
But I released and fell to earth
She turned and walked away

When what you give is not enough
To keep the love alive
There’s nothing left for you to do
No matter what’s inside

I see the souls with broken hearts
I pass them on the street
Their eyes tell tales of broken dreams
Of losses, love’s defeat

Can’t someone comfort loneliness
To ease the pain inside?
The empty echoes of the heart
The memories provide

Be still this restless heart of mine
Let sleep provide me rest
Your stubborn ways shall take their toll
And ache within my chest

I know my fate, my destiny
Does not include release
Just quell this restless heart of mine
That I may rest in peace
