| | | Get Your Wallets Ready for Universal Health Care
Using the current economic condition as cover to spend TRILLIONS of tax dollars, the next great idea from Obama is "Universal Health Care". Of course, for those of us who work, pay our bills, pay taxes, and have insurance, this means nothing for you in terms of benefits. However, for those of you who pay taxes - and worse those of you who have the nerve to be successful and make a little money, get your wallet out because the cost of this is going to be catastrophically huge. We are being told that the cost is only going to be passed on to the 2% of the taxpayers - those making more than $250K a year. Of course, that's until we find out that "it cost more than we expected" and everyone's taxes go up a few percent to help pay it.
One thing that is guaranteed is this - if the "universal" part means any and everyone who is able to get to a US hospital or doctor, you can rest assured that costs will go through the roof for the continuing care of over 11 MILLION ILLEGALS in the United States, 81% from Mexico and Central America.
I guess this is Change. Thanks fucktards who voted this asshat in.

There is basically nothing wrong with universal health care as long as it is equitable and fair to all people.
If illegal immigrants are the real problem, then the answer is simple. Once they arrive at the hospitals treat them and when they are well deport them. As long as your borders are secure you will eventually get rid of them and eventually cure your unemployment problem and financial crisis.

ramm | yeh rite thats the problem with our country because we have free health care and were in the e.u. they can come over here get free treatment ( regularly faster than tax payers who put into the system ) then when its time to go home either do a dissapearing act for a bit and work cash in hand or play the race card if you send me back i might get killed or attacked or something stupid like that
and then if you do get them and try to deport them its against there 'human rights' and they get to stay | | The Following User Says Thank You to manictaz For This Useful Post: | |

As far as universal health care goes, the British model is NOT the way to go.
The whole issue of loose borders and the EU is a very serious millstone around Britain's neck and will prove disastourous as more European countries unravel due to the economic crisis.
Hmmmmmmmmm, America's health care woes are only going to get worse either way. Another 560,000 unemployed the other day and more to follow is going to place enormous pressure on a system that already cannot provide decent and in some cases basic health care needs to it's people.
The point is Universal health care might not be the answer for America, but neither is the present system.

ramm | Slight problem with your solution (aside from the "secure border" thing)......somthing called HIPAA....We (working at hospitals) can't turn them in.....Medicaid can, but won't.....

What's the figure-13 million illegals, porous borders and a system that does not address the issue.
In that case Universal Medicare cannot work. Another thought, your health system might work if it wasn't handling the millions of illegals in America.
Thanks choc.

& why do some people say we can't close the borders? seems to me that the Soviets managed to do a damn good job of closing THEIR borders back in the day.

To me a huge tragedy is the fact that the U.S. will begin to fall behind in medical research, our hospital facilities will suffer, and the U.S. will loose it's place as a leader in health care. When the government controlls health care, who's going to pay for the best doctors, the best equipment, the grants needed for research? We've seen what V.A. hospitals look like! And how they operate! And Bethesda Naval Hospital is literally falling apart.
