| | | Hoodia Has any one tried it.I would like to but I'm afraid of diet pills and such.Especially when I am taking prescription meds..I do Weight Watchers on line.It works good if it's done right.I do good for awhile then it gets boring.I am a terrible dieter.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm planning to soon. I'll be your guinnea pig and let you know how things work out. LOL. Right now, I take Ephedra, which of course, they took off the market, so I'm looking for something new to help keep me in check. Hoodia is the way I was thinking of going next. We'll see.

My friend had a doctor that put her and her sister on Fen Fen.Remember that.Well when they took it off the market because so many people got sick, had strokes and heart attacks and they gave out money through this lawyer and if you went and signed up for it you got money. They both got 15 thousand dollars.

I took Phen phen as well some years back. My doc wouldn't give it to me...said I wasn't "fat" enough. Hmph. So, me and a couple girlfriends did some research and found a backdoor doc up in Washington D.C that would give it to ya even if you were rail thin...as long as you had the big bucks to dish out to him.
I read about the lawsuit thing, but never signed up because of the route I took to recieve the pills in the first place. Besides, as you've probably guessed, when it comes to keeping my figure in check, I'm not very careful about how I go about it healthwise, lol, so I didn't figure I deserved any bit of money that was given out the phen phen users.
Hell, I've probably got some of that still tucked in a drawer in the house somewhere. It's gotta be a good 10 years old though, so I won't take it if I find it. LOL

Man all that stuff is like playing with fire. I used to use Stacker 3 but I stopped after I started doing research. I am not going to put chemicals and crap in my body that will harm me in the long run. There is ZERO substitute for eating properly and getting exercise. I'd rather take the high and hard road than fuck my body up with garbage. Contrary to what is thrown in our face everyday on tv and elsewhere, there is not a magic pill for every little thing and problem we have.

To each his own, my friend. I wouldn't say one road is any "higher" than the other. That's a little pompous sounding. lol. Every individual is different and has thier own individual problems with health and/or weight issues. If someone chooses to pop a pill, so be it, and if someone else has the time to sweat it out in the gym all day, good on ya. Myself? I don't pass judgements on either, nor do I care how someone goes about taking care of their own health.
I do agree with you that there is not a magic pill for every little thing and problem we have, however, I agree with that statement when it comes to matters of emotional health. I think the world is overmedicated and can't be depressed for one friggin day without having to pop some magic pill to fix it, rather than just friggin deal with it. And the U.S medicates all our children and say they ALL have ADD or something instead of just raising them right...give 'em a pill and sit them in front of a video game instead.
Is that hipocritical because I think it's fine to pop pills for dieting, but not to pop pills for slight emotional problems? Yep, sure is. lol. But am I gonna change my viewpoint? Nope, not gonna happen. Again, to each his own. Disclaimer.... before someone gets on my back about the whole "pills and emotional problems" thing, let me clear up what I mean exactly. My own HUSBAND is medicated for clinical depression and NEEDS to be. His condition is genetic and cannot be helped. It is a REAL problem that does require medication. The overdoing of drugs I'm talking about is for all the people who don't truly have a problem, but it's easier to medicate than to just deal with life. I refuse to believe that nearly half of our kids have emotional disorders and need to be medicated. The rest of us grew up all right, and we weren't a medicated society. |

I would just say be careful when taking any drugs while on prescription medication without first checking with your doctor.....I take medication for hypertension (high blood pressure....go figure..)and I can't take any appetite suppressants....raises my blood pressure sky high......so I do the South Beach Diet......works for me...... |

I haven't been to a doc in a good 10 years. The closest thing to a checkup I've had was a month ago at a mandatory health insurance checkup at hubby's job. I was shocked to find out I have high cholesterol. Genetics. Grrrrr!
Yeah, that's right, I'm gonna die early. At least I'm aware of it and I'm not trying to fool myself. lol

Do NOT do any of the over the counter trash while taking other prescribed drugs without consulting your physician first!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH remember the good old days when you could buy White Cross for $.01 apiece.

I did not mean to come off sounding pompus or that I was better than anyone else. That was not my intention. All I was saying is exercise and good nutrition has been one of the only tried and true SAFE ways to diet and keep in check.
