| | | Master Cleanse (AKA:Lemon Cleanse)
This is the lemon/cayenne pepper/maple or honey mixture. Any of you tried it? reviews? did it work? difficulties?
Starting Day 1 of 14 tomorrow, in prep for a previously successful diet that I lost 40 lbs on. I've since regained 20 of those pounds, due to reverting to old eating habits and less exercise. I'm hoping to drop the 20 lbs. regained, plus an additional 10-15 in the future, but at the very least 20 lbs before the end of September. Quote: |

[2] The cleanse involves drinking only lemonade made from fresh lemon or lime juice, Grade B maple syrup, water and Cayenne pepper. No solid food can be eaten for the duration of the cleanse. The lemonade is best taken at room temperature. The master cleanse is technically not a "fast" and proponents say it is more gentle on the body because it does contain some essential vitamins and minerals. According to proponents it is recommended to be on the cleanse for a minimum of ten days, but it is not uncommon for people to stay on the cleanse for longer periods of time, even as long as 45 days. A good indicator of when you should end the cleanse is when the coating on your tongue clears up and your tongue is nice and pink in the morning. This indicates that your body has cleared out most toxins. But you must judge for yourself when to end the diet. [3] | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Sennin For This Useful Post: | |

let us know how this works out for you
personally i would think any diet that tells you not to eat for weeks on end would cause way more damage to your body than any good it could do
i hope you have done the research on how much muscle tissue you will lose compared to fat tissue on this type of diet

Seems to be working quite well at the moment.
I'm not using this as a diet in itself thaking4u, but rather to:
"cleanse the body of toxins and remove the cravings associated with drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and eating junk food. "Coffee, tea, and various cola drinks, as habit-forming beverages, also lose their appeal..." in preparation for dieting.
cons:
- some headache and discomfort from w/d symptoms
- minor hunger pangs (lessening on the second day)
- evil smelling/feeling sweat during exercise
- crapping out a supernova multiple times daily
pros:
- clearer headed
- feel 'lighter' and less bloated
- lost 4 lbs in two days
I have decided to quit at 10 days rather than fourteen however, mostly because of the cost, but also because I'm working on a deadline.

Yes, they're over. I didn't make it the whole ten days, I quit on day five. It was working quite well I think.
The pros were about the same at the end of day four, and at that point I'd lost 6.5 lbs. The cons weren't as bad, no headache, but I did feel a bit drained.
The reason I quit was because I'd run out of the syrup. There was only one store in town that sold it, and they wanted $33 a quart for it. That and I broke down and ate some other food that was around the evening I'd run out, so I figured I'd wait a bit and give it another try, making sure I have all the stuff to last the whole time beforehand.

Actually, when I found some raw agave nectar in the same store for about half the price. I think I'm gonna go with that instead.
Seeing as how the recipe states you can use lemon OR lime juice, I think I'm gonna try for a spicy, tequila free margarita type thing and see how that goes.
