| A Note To All The Newbies
first off, welcome aboard. i am posting this as a gentle reminder, in the hopes that you will all read it and fit in a little better around here. also, i will be closing this right after i post it, so only mods will be able to respond...
some things you should do when you start posting:
1. make an introduction thread. tell us a little about yourselves and likes or dislikes. let us respond and get to know you.
2. spend some time lurking. if you don't feel like making it known you are here yet, spend some time looking at some of our threads and posts. this will get you a nice feel of the board, and will help you figure out the flow.
3. before you post, please check the dates on the threads you want to post in. i have noticed some old threads resurrected from months back, just for someone to say "hello" or "thanks for the post". which brings up my next point:
4. use the "thanks" button. it is there for a reason. please try to avoid posting "thanks, great thread" or "thanks (insert random words here)". i am in no way trying to inhibit your posting, but make sure you put some thoughts into your posts and make them relevant. if you don't, people on here (myself included) will make fun of you.
and last but not least:
5. YOUR POST COUNT MEANS NOTHING IF YOU PAD IT WITH INSIGNIFICANT POSTS!!!!! do not bump old threads just to put in a post. bumping threads is fine, as long as you have some content to add. if not, you are just taking a worthy post or thread out of its spot in line...
any questions? ask your neighbor because i don't care.
